Thanks for sharing this.

The question that remains is what would happen if one travels in Economy and/or on another airline that doesnt have ground staff to assist as in your case.... probably will have to leave sterile area and re-enter, unless you can seriously plead you case that you will miss your connecting flight...??

BTW, was this a mileage run of sorts.... nice itinerary with back to back long haul flights on the 748, but Im guessing you could also have done ORD-FRA-BLR - unless LH no longer does flights to Chicago with 3 class service...?

Update to above post:

So the complete itinerary was:
1) ORD-GRU: UA J
2) GRU-EZE: AC J
3) EZE-FRA: LH F
4) FRA-BLR: LH F

All of above was on a single ticket.
Bags were tagged to final destination in ORD.
GRU transit was as easy as could be.
Things were a bit different in EZE, where an immigration/security officer demanded that AC should have escorted me onto the next flight and refused to waive me through to my boarding gate.
Then the LH escort for F showed up, and managed to help out, by acting as a translator. This person was knowledgeable and knew this would not need any immigration.
But the officer insisted on someone from their team escorting me to the gate to see that I boarded the EZE-FRA flight.
I guess they don't see many people in transit down this south !
All worked out pretty well, with a big thanks to LH escort, in absence of whom it would have been tougher to get through.

Can anyone provide insight on luggage locker or storage at EZE?

There seema to be conflicting info on the internet.

Will be here for 2 days post cruise from USH and rather not haul luggage back and forth into BA.

TIA

Headed to EZE soon, anything I can look for to help answer?

Hello BsAs experts. On an upcoming flight I have access to the admirals club but also priority pass. We'll probably get there pretty early, so is it worth it to visit the PP lounges over the admirals club?

The Ezeiza Lounge isn't bad, nor is the *A lounge (still PP I think but with limited PP hours). Both can get PP lines for entrance, especially if you're flying at AA departure hours. I don't like the AC. Poor layout, food has been marginal (although it has been some time since by last visit). Others have reported that they really like the AC. I am not others ;)

Thanks! I think we'll beat the big departure rush so will probably stake a claim at a nice spot in one of the lounges early rather than hopping about.

Visited the AC lounge in November. Food had improved considerably, but as above poster has said, but layout is poor. It was quite crowded until the first flight of the evening left, after that there was sufficient space.

Reporting on my recent EZE experience.

Arrival on LH. Landed 10 minutes ahead of schedule at 06:15, among the first off the plane and among the first at immigration. No major queue, max a 5 minute wait. Handbagage only so at the Ezeiza taxi booth at 6:40 and in the taxi at 6:45.

Due to AZ messing up my connection the prior day I had been rebooked on LH but leaving me with less than 3 hours between STA and STD of my flight at AEP (I had originally booked a hotel in BA). In the end, traffic was the normal morning zoo, but I made it to AEP in 1h25, just in time to go through security and immediately board my flight. Landing 10 minutes early helped, having no checked bags saved the day.

Departure from EZE was smooth, last time I was there (2 years ago) the security check and immigration area was still under construction. Now there is a very nice priority (Sky Priority, business class, etc) lane that is wonderful, no queue whatsoever there.

After hearing the horror stories for how long it takes to do security and immigration for EZE departures, I arrived very early and was pleasantly surprised.

I was on the 9:15pm AA flight. I saw that the AA check in desk opens at 4:15pm. I arrive at 4:10pm, used my mobile boarding pass to get a paper boarding pass from the machine even before the check in desk opened. No line for security or immigration. I was airside and at the lounge by 4:30 pm. A total of 20 minutes! Awesome!! And, the Admiral’s Club was empty as well, so it worked out nicely.

Random credit card data point. 1418 ars usd on amex plat. 1333 on B of A Alaska (visa) summit.

And I’m not convinced BoA credits the MEP rate after the fact.

PS- there is some non-zero chance that the authorization versus posted charge isn’t consistent. This Alaska card with the 3X on foreign transactions is pretty popular with the flyertalkers, so I thought I would keep an eye on it.

Wow !! This is a (very) relevant difference in the exchange rate. Just to clarify, were both charges you mention swiped on the same day...? And these were actual physical card transactions, not online, would that be correct...?

This is consistent with my experiences last Sept: https://www.flyertalk.com/forum/arge...l#post37305078

I got a better exchange rate with AMEX than with Visa.

Gaucho100K Mar 12, 2026 7:29 pm

This makes me wonder what the exchange rates are when comparing AmEx to MasterCard.......
