As long as you take all the normal precautions and use common sense you shouldn't worry. My best advice would be try not to look like a tourist. Also try not to use your mobile phone on the street and if you do hold it with both hands - thieves on motorcycles ("motochorros") are known for grabbing phones from the hands of the users without even dismounting. They are very skillfull, the porteño thieves.

Thanks! I am from Spain myself so I probably look less like a tourist than from other blonder countries :) Hopefully speaking the language (even if with a different accent) should help.

I walk around with two phones all the time and never hold my phone with two hands.... unless I want to play a two handed backhand at pingpong with my Iphone I cant see how the heck I would do that anyway !!!!

Unless you are in the wrong part of town, I think that there is no need to worry about your cellphone, even if its an Iphone or the latest Samsung Galaxy. Have the usual precautions and use common sense, and you will be OK.

I travel quite often to BsAs, am street smart (Grew up in NYC, live in Los Angeles) and nothing has ever happened to me. But a Buddy (a prominent Winemaker in Mendoza did tell me an acount of him being robbed of his Rolex at Gunpoint while at a Cafe in Recoleta (so it even happens from time to time to the Nationals as well) This is not specifically an Argentina thing, it happens world wide these days. But the link is specific to issues in BsAs and Argentina..

Get in touch with the airport operators through this page. If you're out of luck then I'm sure Tienda Leon will store your luggage at their base in Buenos Aires if you use them for your transfer.

Theere used to be a Locos x el futbol in Caballito on Rivadavia but it closed 7/8 years ago . I thought the company had gone bankrupt but obviously it still exists.

Some Argentine business don't go bankrupt, they simply vanish in the night. Some of the same players may establish another business, even with a similar name, or different players may establish a similar business in the same site as the vanished business. No idea what occurred with this futbol local.

The place was empty for atime and then it became an Audi car showroom I think.

Ended watching the game in a private house so can't comment on the place. Maybe next time but curious if somebody else has been there.
