there are also a bunch of clothing stores on Cordoba somewhere around the 3400- 4400 blocks. There is a bus line (ican't remember the number, but i am sure someone will know it) and you can just ride it till you see the outlets.
I hope this helps others! |

Yes, the service is offered at both airports last time I checked (which was a while back). I dont think the services have been de-activated because of any security related issues. Let me check the websites and get back to you.

Is there luggage storage at EZE or AEP? I plan to fly to FTE on arrival in EZE (will need to transfer airports) and would like to only take my backpack to Patagonia. I'll have some nicer clothes with me for the days I'll be in BsAs and would rather store a second suitcase than take it with me.
Thanks! Looking forward to your followup, Gaucho. I could probably make it with the 15kg limit Aerolineas Argentina imposes for our 3-day visit to Mendoza, but would like to take a bit more for the Buenos Aires and Igauzo parts of our trip. |
Please note that the enforcement of the 15kg limit on baggage for domestic flights is usually not enforced. This is of course not an exact science, so you may run into an agent that will throw the book at you... but, in most cases they are willing to accomodate a little extra weight. Just dont show up with 4 bags that weigh 40Kgs. each... :D

Baggage Service at AEP (Buenos Aires City Airport)
Confirmed... ^
AEP and and also EZE have left baggage services. BUENOS AIRES / AEROPARQUE, AEP > Guardaequipaje > Atención al Cliente > PB > Sector Público. Teléfono: 5480 6111 The service is offered in the general area, on the ground floor. Im not sure they have English service, but you may call 5480-6111 for more information. |
Thank you! As I said before, I'll be connecting from EZE to AEP. Having storage at AEP is fantastic. Also good to hear about the 15 kg limit as well. Chance are I'll be packing light since I'll have a backpack, but good to know that being a couple kilos over probably won't be a big deal.
I just made my flight reservation to FTE today! I'm not sure what their fare structure is, but fares vary wildly depending on the flight number! Consequently, I don't get back to BsAs until 21:03. Oh well! I'll be back in time to check out the nightlife! Thanks again! |
Quick question on the type of electric plug used in EZE and MDZ.
Most guide books say that two types are common..the two round prong European type and a three prong type kind of shaped like an inverted V. What type is most common and/or would be used in most hotels? I've got all kinds of adapter plugs and just need to know what to pack. Thanks. |
Cholula-- currently, the three prong type is prevalent, as it is in line with the updated electrical specifications which were last updated 4 years ago. Some older buildings may still have some of the old 2 prong European outlets... but they are slowly going away as time passes.
|
In the Buenos Aires hotel I stayed at in '05 there was a dual plug system, both the "Australian" slanted two pronged plug and the european round one worked. Also my hotel had 110v outlets in the bathroom.

What I plan to plug in will be in the main room and not the bathroom so I'll bring plenty of adapters. I realize the hotel can provide these too but I've seen too many "we just loaned out the last adapters to Guest X :( " to trust somebody else to provide them. |
Great question, Cholula. I've been so Europe-focused I never thought about this.
I think I have one of the triangular ones you refer to, seems like it is large and has flat blades? Whatever, shopping for things like electrical adapters and super glue in countries where you don't speak the language is quite entertaining. Especially when you want the super glue to re-attach your acrylic nail in a country that doesn't DO acrylics. |

I bring one adapter set and a good extension cord for US plugs. Laptop, cellphone, PDA...... |
Quick question ... I will need to exchange some money upon arrival at EZE. I have read here to avoid the money changers and use the bank right outside customs. Does this bank have an atm? I arrive at 6am :)

How true....
I bring one adapter set and a good extension cord for US plugs. Laptop, cellphone, PDA...... Also, I'm bringing a small step-down voltage converter. My laptop makes the 220-->110 conversion automatic but we have a couple small devices that don't have built-in converters. |
