Only just found this great post.
Back in 2004 I flew down to EZE from FRA no less than 12 times..... for day trips. I was working for a major European airline and initially had the choice of Osaka or Buenos Aires as my first flight. I had already been to Osaka so chose EZE. Boy, am I glad I did. I think the place is fabulous. Stayed with the crew in the Hilton hotel (highly recommended) and spent most of my 24 hour layover walking around the city and exploring. As has been mentioned many times on this thread, the steaks in Argentina are "to die for". My favourite place was El Establo. One of the crew members I flew with told me about El Establo and I was never disappointed. This thread has really got me thinking of going back down there in the very near future. I think that this is what I have been saving all those miles and Hilton points for. See you down there. Hi.. glad you enjoyed it down here. For the next time you come down, I would suggest you try some of the lodging options available in Palermo... now that you know the Puerto Madero area, I think it will be a nice change of pace/style and allow you to know another part of the city. |

Palermo Chico does not really offer lodging options... so perhaps you should consider some of the boutique hotel options in the rest of Palermo. Some places that get good reviews include:
- Bobo Hotel - Five Cool Rooms - Home Hotel - Malabia House |

Bobo Hotel
But book soon, they fill up quickly. If fact for November you will be lucky to get in the BoBo. |
Palermo lodging
Thanks everybody for the recommendations. I know it's getting late but I'll see what's available.

You might also check out Posada Palermo, which is not far into the Palermo Viejo side of Palermo, and therefore a fairly close walk to things in Palermo Chico. Great place, I've had several friends stay there and they've all loved it.

Fly to Buenos Aires late December
Hello,
I've been planning on traveling to Buenos Aires for the New Year and I've been looking at flights from the NYC area since May and there has not been any real good deals. I can also fly from the WAS. DC area as well. My travel is somewhat flexible from Dec 27-Jan 4. Any suggestions would be great! Thanks :D |
Host Families/ Home Stays
Any information/advice on finding a host family to stay with in Buenos Aires? My travel buddy finds it a little sketchy (the whole home stay thing). But I think it would make for a better, more enjoyable visit. We've both never been.
Thanks! |
A search of the thread
Turned up no mention of GOLF.
So, Gaucho, I need some advice on places that I will be able to chase a ball around a field. Flying in this February to catch a cruise ship, will have a couple days (Feb 26/27) at the end where I'll want to get in 18 in the morning and see the city in the afternoons TIA |
