The UA flight has been prone to substantial delays from time to time, as the aircraft arrives from IST. However, you do get flat seats. I don't know what AA runs on the route (if you have a slanted or a flat business seat).

The resident expert on the UA flights to EZE out of the Big Apple is SoFlyOn.
He is a regular on the EWR to EZE red-eye. Im not saying you shouldnt go with AA, Im just saying if you want 1st hand feedback from a seasoned flyer that has tons of empirical evidence of that route with UA/CO, then you need to contact him.

No chance of getting the new AA Biz seat but you'll be guaranteed the new UA Biz seat which is pretty damn good from what I saw from the F cabin.
To be honest despite the sloping seat the only thing that would put me off AA is the fear of ending up in the middle middle seat.

Paid J on either airline is a waste unless the fare is <$500 difference between J and Y.

When I saw TIA I immediately thought 'this is Argentina'...I think I've been living in Buenos Aires too long. Anyway, I've flown AA to and from EZE-JFK 10 times now and it's always been fine.

I've not flown UA in a very long time (although all my first trips here were with them), but as for AA I'm on the 953/954 (used to be 955/956) pretty frequently, and although I've never been a fan of AA's J seats, I do have to say that I believe the crews AA has running between JFK and EZE are about as good as they get. I've had exceptional service on most occasions (always J and F), and at worst mediocre to good service (which I've experienced on about any carrier).
The purser on my last flight was actually the same one from my two prior flights, so I do get the feeling that there's a small segment of crew who are genuinely happy to be working that flight (and do very frequently), and that has come through in the form of shining service as far as I've observed.
Not exactly a lot of data, but my brother had a horrendous experience with UA last year on the EWR-EZE, and several of his colleagues related stories of mishaps on the flight as well.
