Are you sure there wasn't one? That used to be the norm in Spain 40 odd years ago but have never come across it in any hotel anywhere in the world since.

Sure it wasn't one of those modern types which are built in and sometimes the open/close mechanism is hard to find? Hard to believe they wouldn't have one. Good feedback. ^

Nope - certain there wasn't one - I did look in any likely hiding places
Sink pre-dated the cunning (and often not very good) lever systems.

Now in Uruguay and no plug here either....

Not really a major issue when one thinks about it (and certainly not one of the many aspects of this trip that will remain in the memory)
