Someone told me today that Bariloche Airport is again closed because of the ash.......

Took 20 hours but so much more comfortable than cattle class on Aerolineas Argentina. Funnily enough you probably have about the same amount of turbulence from both methods of transport! Stomach churning for sure.

Yes the coaches here are a really comfortable way to travel long distances. If it's the only way to get to Bariloche then yes they are a great alternative than going by air or not going at all. I just don't like long overnight journeys by coach.

I suspect that with a 20 hour journey it would offer the opportunity to stop in an interesting town somewhere near the mid point and have a local meal and a sleep in a non-moving bed. Perhaps a bit more costly

They do stop along the way to pick up and drop passengers.....that's partly the reason the journey takes so long.....although 20 hours sounds a bit on the long side to me. The last time I did it it was a few hours short of that. You get fed on the coach so stops are quite short. Really only enough time for a cigarette and to buy some drinks.Originally Posted by wandering_fred

I hate overnight longhaul flights as well even in F.
