His 35 minutes is an anomaly - I flew out at a non-peak hour last weekend and it took a fair chunk longer - for the first time, the security line was backed up to the entry of that area, but the passport control line took less time than usual. Check-in (LAN J at 4pm) only took a few minutes.

The worst line was for declaring valuables but fortunately I already had a receipt from a previous trip for my laptop etc so bypassed that this time round.

The gate screening is definitely a joke - they literally unzipped my rucksack, peered into it and zipped it back up again. This was followed by a very cursory pat down and then it was straight onto the plane.

Flew out on Jan 15 and it was the smoothest I have ever seen it at EZE. Maybe 15 min total from check in to the lounge (even with the Global Tax Refund process). There's was a bag search and wanding at the UA gate. Flight left a couple of minutes early. The plane was pretty full.
