Ansett administrators confident of Sydney Airport deal soon
Administrators are confident Ansett's prospective owner, Tesna, will finalise its lease arrangements with Sydney Airport by the end of today.
Problems in securing the lease arrangement have been among the major sticking points preventing the sale of Ansett to the Fox-Lew consortium.
Administrator Mark Mentha says he expects the deal to clear the way for Tesna to take control of the failed airline before the February 28 deadline.
"Mark Korda and I have always described the Sydney Airport Corporation along with our employees as the jewels in the crown and I think that if we can have that asset determined in terms of the assignment of the lease, we'll be 99 per cent of the way there," Mr Mentha said.
