Rear-facing seats coming to NE Regional

I can't find an amtrak specific video of rotating a seat, but doesn't each pair have a lever like this, so I assume it's operated in a similar way:

This takes no more than a few seconds per seat pair

In the video, it takes ~6 seconds. Which is 3 times your estimate of 2 seconds. So, logically, what's the result when you multiply your previous estimate by 3?

It appears to be a demonstration, someone doing this at job-speed would be faster. The point is - it is far faster than this:

Of course Amtrak went with fixed bidirectional seating on the new trainsets because it "allows for faster turn around time" (ie: lower labor costs), but the correct solution, also found in Japan, would be
, at least for the new Acela.

For the existing trainsets, I wonder if they're actually going to fix the seats into place somehow, or if they're simply not going to rotate them further once they're in the 50/50 configuration.
