I read anecdotes of putting in a lpw bid and getting a Roomette from Coach I have a Flex Ticket if that helps only $3 more than Value. .
I put in $75.from LA to San. Jose on January 25th . I was wondering if I increased it to $85 would that be better? $100 is a bit much on a day trip of 10 hours. I got a bedroom from Lamy to San Jose at a great rate but not worth paying $200 on a day trip.
My Calculations to see if s Room is worth it.
LMY to LAX 19 Hours vs LA to SJC 10 hours me hoping for a delay.
Lunch boarding Lamy $25
Dinner $45
Breakfast $25
Metropolitan Lounge $35. For Day Pass
Room for 19 hours overnight with Shower Priceless
If on 10 hour Rode
$25 Lunch
$45 Dinner
Roomette on 10 hour ride Not a deal breaker
If I can prepay meals and get is for $75-$90 above coach great if not it's Ok.

I mean only you can decide what it's really worth. Obviously, bidding a bit above the minimum will help. You'll be ahead of others who only bid the 75.
If the 10 bucks swings the numbers too much for you then roll the dice at 75. Personally for essentially 1 extra dollar an hour I'd find the comfort and privacy to be worth it.
