So sad, always appreciated his honest advice to newbies on the Amtrak forum, really made this a great part of FT.

I consider Alan a true friend. He made a tremendous difference in my life and affected my rail travel over the last 9 years. I was among the group with whom he was traveling when he suffered an apparent heart attack. I am still in shock and am having a difficult time believing that he is gone.

A memorial service will be held for Alan at Quakertown United Methodist Church, 1875 Freier Road, Quakertown, PA 18951 on Saturday August 11th at noon. According to the family, the easiest way to get to Quakertown (partially) by train is to take Amtrak to Philadelphia then SEPTA to Lansdale. From Lansdale to Quakertown, one can take an Uber for the 15-20 mile trip.
