Adding tickets to the App

The Amtrak App keeps having a hard time adding my ticket to the App. I have only been able to manually punch in my res # and phone # to get the ticket to show up but it would be nice if it was linked to my account on the app.

Only reservations/tickets purchased online automatically appear in the app. Phone purchased tickets must be "brought up" as you describe by entering res# and phone#

I have an opposite question. I have a ticket I'm pretty confident I refunded that still shows in the app. I can pull it up, including the code. What would happen, if I tried to use it--not that I'm going to. Just curious if this is a major loophole.

When the conductor scans it, it will throw up a major red flag. The ticket is absolutely worthless, its essentially a receipt with your reservation number. The conductors iPhone will take the number and run it through the system and it will show immediately that your ticket is invalid. If you scan the ticket barcode with, all it will show is the reservation number, which is run against the actual database.

Understood. They really need to fix the app. It should show all reservations tied to an AGR number and/or e-mail address, including points redemptions and bookings made over the phone, and it should remove anything that has been cancelled or refunded.

Speaking of the app, is anyone able to stay logged in? The app always logs me out after a couple of hours. I don't see an option to stay logged in.

What OS are you using? I use Android and I'm logged in.

The inability to use AGR points to purchase tickets using the app, and the inability of the app to display points-redeemed tickets is terrible! As is the inability to change point-redeemed tickets on-line or on the app. Terrible IT infrastructure, but given that Congress is intentionally starving Amtrak of funds to try to kill it, not surprising, and I don't blame Amtrak itself.

I updated the app and seem to be okay now. Odd.

Might be just me, but on my Android tablet I don't see any way to select senior under passengers (only adults, children, and infant). Nor is there any way to book a bike on a train that carries them.
