Don't you need to rent a full-size to get the upgrade?

Sorry, that was from many years ago back when Centurion first started. I did find a letter from 2004 that lists the benefits, but the Triple upgrade was gone by then. This letter just says complimentary upgrades when you reserve a mid-size or larger. It also has the courtesy pickup and dropoff for private planes, complimentary child seats and ski racks, 4-hour grace period, extended weekend rates beginning at 7am on Thursday, etc.

No, with Avis you can rent any size and get an upgrade IME.

It's supposed to be if you rent an Intermediate or better, get a 2 class upgrade with a maximum of Premium. IME you often get something better.

That's exactly the rule I cited on the Avis forum not long ago for President's Club, and was told that the 2-class upgrade as far up to Luxury is standard. I also thought it was maximum to Premium (although I'd been upgraded to Luxury in the past), but the Avis group say there is no such restriction.
