None of you guys keep your passports in your wallet - so it's not like you're going to find yourself in a situation where you can use them 'on the off chance'.

Sorry but I have my passport in my wallet EVERY day. It has a section for it. One side holds the passport an the other an old style UK driving license.

I also have a boat load of FF cards along with credit/debit cards.

Whenever I see someone pull out a fat wallet containing 100 different pieces of plastic and a huge pile of old shop receipts etc, I just want to weep. I would NEVER employ someone who carries around their National Insurance card in their wallet!

If I don't need it almost every day, I don't carry it. The video shop card and all the FF cards sit at home or in my desk. I mean, I don't carry my swimming trunks around every day on the 1 in a 1,000 chance I might fancy a dip!

So, the RJB wallet contains:

1 debit / ATM card
1 BA Amex
1 Tesco Visa

plus the swipe card for my building and 1 business card. And 25 as of now.

And, for the moment at least, 1 Amex Travellers Cheque Card!

(And before anyone asks, yes, I do live in a minimalist apartment with very little furniture!)

Well the NI card is a bit odd as it does serve bugger all pupose in day to day living. As for 100s of card and reciepts, obvioulsy you don't do lots of quick trips every week/month and strugle to keep up on expense reports. Once the wallet fills up dump them into the laptop bag and have thw eife waid through them at the end of the month.

Yeah, really. I know my NI number and I've never, ever, ever been asked to provide documentary proof of it.

Cool

Well, I'm guilty of carrying too many cards - Citi's Diamond Preferred & Premier Pass, Chase's CashBuilder & Profit, Am Ex's Starwood & Hilton Honors, US Bank's WorldPerks and Kohl's. As soon as they get here, I'll have a shiny new Am Ex Blue Cash and Citi Dividend Select to throw in the mix. (Yes, I plan to weed down what I carry soon!)

But I always carry a minimum of two or three Visa/MC/AmEx's. I learned this the hard way, filling the car with gas and then the card mysteriously didn't work for the cashier. Wouldn't you know, I didn't have enough cash on me, either. I had to walk home and get another (fortunately only about 3 blocks away!)

The card company couldn't explain why it was denied - but that didn't help when I was at the cashier! There have been a couple other flukes like this, but I've been armed with other cards. Geesh!

My contents tend to "rotate," depending on what I have planned for the day. As for today, I have the following:
Everything fits just fine, I could actually fit some more into the billfold portions of the wallet, it's just that it's a little hefty. I have a standard Docker's Tri-fold btw.

I have had it in there since before I had the number memorized, and I found myself constantly needing it for college apps. It was neatly tucked away behind my id's so I honestly just forgot about it being in there.
