AIG claim processing timeframe

I used the stolen cell phone benefit for the first time back in September 2022. I filed the claim towards the end of Sept... it's now been 4 months and the claim has still not been finalized. It had been assigned to an agent who has emailed me twice, each time asking for something that I had already sent in. I've tried calling the agent directly using the number at the bottom of her email, never answers. I've also called the main AIG number, and the answer is usually " we are sorry for the delay, we will reach out to the agent and get things going"

Is it normal for it to take this long? Is there anything I can do to speed it up?

Did you re-submit the documents that the adjuster requested?

Yes I did.

when I originally sent in my claim, they told me it would be 6 weeks. I hope that doesn't mean 6 more weeks each time they ask for something, again.

Thanks to everyone who chimed in.

As a follow up, I made one last phone call into the main AIG customer service line. I actually got ahold of someone who really looked into my claim. She saw that I was supposed to receive a call back several weeks ago and never got one.
She sent an email to the agent handling my claim, her supervisor and the "escalation" team. Surprising I just got a call from the claims agent and she said she does have everything she needs and will be sending the approval over to payment dept and a check should be sent out in 3 business days.
A data point for others filing a claim, it took 7 weeks from the time I filed the claim until I got the first email from the agent that would be handling my claim.
Gasolin and SPN Lifer like this.
