Certainly very possible, but it seems immaterial when mostly compared to the Platinum bus. card. I've not travelled much during the past two years. I've had COVID, rather not go through that ordeal again. Prob. travel again once the dust settles. Only prem. card I still carry is the JPM Reserve. I find that is worth the fees and hidden credit line. If AMEX had something similar, I could see some value. But again, that's me.

I wish that were the case. Unfortunately, they don’t really act as an assistant. Also, no longer assigned to a rep. They say you’re now assigned to a team, but every time I contact them, I get a different rep. So maybe the team is all of the reps? I haven’t found them to be that useful over the years and am thinking about getting a Capital One CC with lounge membership instead and a Green Amex to retain the points unless they offer another promo like last year where part of the $5k annual fee was returned as travel credits. Centurion lounges are at capacity, showers and massage are still closed, limited hours. Meh.
If we are talking about Concierge, I agree those can be hit or miss. But I have always had excellent service from my team.
And if you are a Centurion member, Centurion lounges should never be at capacity. If you can't find a seat, alert the front desk and they will clear a space for you. It's called the Centurion lounge, not the Platinum lounge.

I have no problem with someone criticizing a company/product (in this case the Centurion Card) provided the person doing so provides a rational basis. I wish that comptalk had elaborated on what makes the JPM Reserve "worth it" but as it stands his post doesn't contribute much apart from a statement of his personal preference...

There must be something else because that is also offer by nearly all business cards from most issuers, including Business Platinum..

This is correct, there are reserved tables and areas for Centurion. Also when near/at capacity, Platinum cardholders once checked in would need to wait for a text to gain access. Centurion will be taken in regardless of the Platinum backlog. This was helpful when at Seattle recently.

It’s also been helpful to get into the PHX one when it’s busy. But that’s not a lounge where the waitlist would be a great reason on its own to seek out and pay up for a Centurion card.
It can be important to some personal card users for approximately the same kind of reasons it is important for those with business card products being used for business expenses.
The second sentence in the quote above implies that there are some people who care about a hidden trade line whether or not using the card for business expenses, and indeed there are some who care about the hidden trade line because they think it may have implications on their personal finances or something else if the line wasn’t a hidden one. I have some Centurion card holding acquaintances who are more reluctant to apply for business credit/charge cards than for personal credit/charge cards. Maybe comptalk is like one of them.

Personally, it is not important for me, but a number of my fellow JPMR holders seem to value it. I just responded to clarify the status as a non-business card.

I didn’t know I had a senior rep. What types of requests do you make? For me, it’s mostly plane tickets. I look up the segments using google flights and then have them book those exact segments. Stopped trying to give them more challenging requests. They do arrange the meet me at the gate and escort to next gate, get through security, etc. which is nice.

I do like PHX as they have a section for Centurion. Staff is more engaging and friendlier than DFW in my experience.

I agree with this. Ive only been with centurion for about a month or so now and have had a great experience with my member rep team. It’s definitely a team helping but you get a main rep who is the one who helps the most or gets everyone else to help on the team when needed. My rep called me to tell me that my Hilton status was declined because I already had an email address with them, but not to worry and he would get it all taken care of

got a few requests now in the works that I’ll update later this week when they finish. But they got me a reservation that when I tried to book on my own, was completely booked. It was in Charlotte, NC

I have an update on this. He got the call this morning from Amex and was offered the business or the personal. He is taking the personal but passing on the business for the past 3-4 years his business spend has been $1-3mil per year on the business platinum. His personal spend this year is $800-900k on a mix of personal platinum and 2 other amex cards. That’s about all the info I got from him so far
