What is coming June 28, 2015? [Revised redemption chart]

I haven't found any thread in regard to this:

My current statement has a page insert that says that I can "... learn about upcoming changes going into effect on June 28 by visiting www.membershiprewards ....". So far as I can find, the page that I am directed to has no information about changes coming June 28. Does anybody know what those changes are going to be?

amex platinum

Wonder if this will also be the effective date of the much discussed changes to platinum that some have been discussing on other threads.

So is this the change? Looks like points will be worth less when redeeming. Found it under the travel section in the url above. This was for what is 10,000 points worth.

Starting at 12:00am MST on June 28, 2015, the points value will change to $70.00.

This is interesting. I'm not necessarily against it. Using MR points as a direct monetary substitute was never very compelling. My hope is that it will mean there are greater opportunities for transfer. Perhaps it is a boneheaded dream...

When I go to http://www.membershiprewards.com/pointsinfo and login with my Business Platinum card credentials I am shown the value of 10,000 points in these categories. I don't think there is much new or changed, except it is is now possible to easily see the relative return when using points for one type of redemption versus another. As always, there is nothing better than a penny a point other than transfer to an airline program .

I noticed some going up. Hotels for example, all the MGM resorts are going to $100. Hyatt and a few others. Some went down a little.

Gift Cards for clarification...

Exactly. I refuse to spend MR points for anything less than the 1cent per point return.

This is good for me...... the hotels that I tend to stay at; Hyatt and the Bellagio LAS hotels are finally a penny a point!

Interesting redemption offers. Some are completely horrible while others are at least 1:1 I think it's a step in the right direction.

It's a step in the right direction, but it still confuses me as to why AMEX can't process hotel redemptions (reservations or gift cards) at the 1% rate across the board. I would offer the idea that it's because Marriott and Ritz are in a tight agreement with Chase, but Hyatt is as well (or at least maybe this is an indication that Hyatt's relationship isn't as tight with Chase).

Today, I see additional information which mentions three redemption values which change at the end of June, further devaluing points if used for hotels, cruises or hotel packages, The other options, such as gift cards, are already offered and have been available for a long while.
