UK AmEx to SPG to AA

With the current SPG/AA bonus I am tempted to transfer 120,000 AmEx to SPG (60,000) then onto AA where I will end up with 90,000 AA.

These miles would then hopefully be used to fly F on CX. EY. or QR to Asia 2 Using less miles and less out of pocket.

My thinking is that I should get better value from the AmEx points than if I transferred them to Avios my usual transfer route

Any thoughts on the above, also is there a better option?

No, its a good option and therein shows how valuable AA miles can be to the right destinations

With there being very few ways of getting AA miles in the UK other than the MBNA credit card, the extra 20% uplift during July certainly makes it a bit more appealing.

I also top up my AA account using e-rewards, again I take a bit of a hit at 2000 AA per 8000 er , 3000 Avios is available for 8000 er via Iberia.
