Reminder: you must enroll and select Southwest as your airline BEFORE making a reimbursable purchase.
Some have suggested the need to wait several hours or even a day before making the purchase, but there are also several DPs that worked without waiting that long.

(BTW, you will often hear people refer to Southwest as WN. WN is the IATA code for Southwest Airlines. SW is the IATA code for Air Namibia.)

Caution: As of late July 2019, reports are that direct gift card purchases are no longer being reimbursed.
To purchase click here: https://www.southwest.com/gift-card/create-card.html Caution: Do NOT login to your Southwest Rapid Rewards account when making the purchase.

What does appear to work is buying flight tickets less than $100, OR using gift cards to get the charged amount down to less than $100.

Always read the last few pages to get up-to-date DPs.

How long are you supposed to wait after selecting airline to purchase tickets? I did mine immediately and it's been 12 days and still not reimbursed. I'm thinking this is where I might have screwed up.

Did you book the multiples on a single booking or as individual bookings? Thanks.

Isn't it same as asking for clawback w/ business/anytime?

I'm paranoid, so I always wait until the next day to buy. I've never had an issue with something not crediting

Meter moved today (12/15) on a 12/8 <$100 flight.

Edit: credit posted today (12/16) so it took 8 calendar days end to end.

Just got my card. Bought on Dec. 10, meter moved on Dec. 16th for a $59 flight.

Quick question for folks, I still see the transaction in my payment history. How is the credit reflected on the billing statement? Should I expect it to credit out/reverse the existing transaction or does it show as a separate flight credit?

The credit will post to your payment history likely tomorrow, meter moves a day earlier generally.

Dec 6: Amex Platinum selected Southwest
Dec 9: Purchased 3 flights < $100
Dec 15: meter moved
Dec 16: credit posted to account for all the flights

The sticky says you may need to wait a couple of days, however I selected WN on 12/10, purchased a $97.50 fare 12/10, cancelled 12/11 and received credit 12/16.

What i would like to do is send my wife to visit some family but those dates are more than $100 each way. Would i be OK booking different dates under that 100 mark and then just changing the flight to the dates I actually want and pay the difference?

Booked a flight for family trip and legitimately cancelled due to change of plans. I was using points. The fee got charged and refunded back by SW. And i also got my travel credit from Amex for each of the fees.
