$200 GC bought on 3/22, reimbursed in full on 3/24. nice!

Anyone know if Miles Boost purchases on the new UA are reimbursed? Looked back over thread but didn't find any reference.

My Dad have an Int'l BusinessFirst ticket with one segment of MCI-ORD in a one-class ERJ, and because he does not have status he is not qualified for E+, which I think is crazy considering the price he paid for his ticket!

Anyways, I paid for the $49 fee with my Plat Amex to get him in the Exit Row 12 and the fee was reimbursed within 2 days. I should add that after the pss and website integration, the charge came through showing as Continenal, instead of United...

Yep, mine too. Thought t'was slightly amusing.

3/24: Amex credit for $200

Purchased a $125 GC to UA on 3/27.
Credited back 3/29.

Bought $200 UA GC on 3/29, full reimbursement from Amex posted 3/31.

200 UA gc posted on 4/1 reimbursement posted 4/4

UPDATE: Charge was posted but I'm worried the details section will throw a red flag to AMEX, anyone else experience this?

No longer offering gift cards
 

i was just told by an AMEX Plat agent that they are no longer offering gift cards for UA. Can that possibly be true? (she went off to check with someone and came back to tell me this).

They were never really "offering" UA (or any other airline's) gift cards. The airline fee reimbursement isn't really supposed to cover it. Often the Amex reps will respond to inquiries by sending some mysterious, nowhere-to-be-officially-found list of specific items it does cover.

My charge for a $200 GC posted with identical details on 4/7 and was reimbursed/credited on 4/13.
