I tried to enroll today but it didn't let me do it online. So I sent an SM saying I met all the Terms & Conditions but wasnt able to enroll online and also asked if they could manually enroll me. A nice csr replied back in 2 hours and said my account has been noted for the promo I have a PR gold card

Anybody having any luck recently getting AMEX to award points after calling in and being told the code would be applied manually (i.e. noted in the account)?

When her registration didn't work online and she called, they told my wife they'd apply it manually and the points would post for her. Subsequent calls resulted in them telling her that she was not enrolled because she was not targeted and therefore the points wouldn't post. They say they have no record of her being added manually. That isn't the issue. Once a company verbally promises something and you rely upon it to your financial detriment (my wife did - she made some purchases that were *purely* motivated by the offer and cannot get them refunded), you may hold them accountable for this. Amex needs to tread carefully in any case where they verbally told a customer they will receive something and then later said they don't qualify. In other words, while they have every right to target people and to reject people who weren't targeted, once they *tell you* that you will receive the points (e.g., they've manually added you), they are putting themselves at risk. Promissory estoppel.

I can say that I was a person with my account notated. Alas, any Delta purchases I had made resulted in me getting points as a one time exception, however, any Delta purchases going forward wouldn't earn me anymore points. "Earned Q3 Delta $100 spend/ 5k MR pts" is on my MR activity page.

So for the rest of us who fly on Delta frequently, wait until after 10/31 to call in and push for your points.

How quickly have most people received the bonus membership rewards points after the charge/statement close? I am registered for this promo and am anxiously awaiting my bonus points. Any data points would be greatly appreciated.

I was one of the few people who had the bonus manually added to my account. The first 2 transactin was easy because it was before they revoked the agents ability to get miles. The next two took 30 minutes after calling in because she had to go to a supervisor. The next 6 took a few days. The agent had to take the information down and pass it along to some specialist.

Received a call today saying I was given the points but it was a one time exception because I was not coded for this promotion. Wish I called on the 31st. Might have a few more flights to book.

Thanks for the data points. But how long after you purchased your flights did you call to have them manually added?

I gave each a few weeks to a month. My last call was for 6 flights booked September 22nd (2), and first week of Oct (4). Called on the 14th, received a call back yesterday confirming the points.

Final week for this Promo any other successes? My account was manually noted and got 4 tickets back in September.(I called in a few weeks after paying my bill) I plan to buy plenty more this week before the cut off since I have been awarded the bonus previously and it shows as such on my MR activity listing I would presume I will be awarded it again if I buy before the 31st.

However a little worried given all the news of AMEX denying promos again the fact that I have already been awarded 20K points should serve to protect me right....?

Mine are still posting in 1-3 days. It totally worked in making me loyal to Delta. I must have gotten 90k MR points.

I'm "noted" too (or rather my wife is). We're up to 21 tickets now and I'm contemplating a few mileage runs for next spring.

Here's where I come down:
* She has no other promos outstanding that I care enough to argue about so I'll take this one to the mat with Amex.
* She has it in writing (secure message) twice that she qualifies and will get the points after Oct 31.
* She has few promos, relatively speaking, that she's taken advantage of though it does include the 100k MR bump on this same card so she may not be as much a churner as I am perceived to be (though I do spend $50k+ on Amex annually). She is spending heavily on her SPG card so hopefully that helps the perception a bit.

So, I intend to double down. I found some mileage runs from DCA to LAS last week that I used to ensure diamond this year. With little rollover though, I'm looking for a fast start next year and this changes the dynamics a LOT.

With the posts here and in the thread about Amex not honoring "noted" promos, I think it's truly YMMV. The rules with Amex have changed. Even if someone posts here, I think you'd be unwise to rely on it. At least one person with this promo noted has been denied on first response.

Your call... and I sincerely wish you luck since we're both in this high stakes play together from the sounds of it! I've got 105k MR on the line, and likely more soon, based largely on the proposition that $100-$120 one-way tickets are effectively free when offset by the MR promo + 100% bonus for GM+ Delta bonuses.

I was targeted for this and have used it 18 times, with the points posting within 3 days each time.

I was not targeted, but did have the promotion noted on my account. After a number of calls over the last 2 months (2 Delta pruchases were made on 8/31) and a final call last night pointing out it had been more than 8 weeks, I had the points added to my account today.

My DH has SM in requesting the points. A lot of points.

The response from the same agent (of two) that confirmed previously that she would receive it was that they needed 10 days to check her eligibility.

It's a little late in my book to be checking eligibility but I'll let 'em have the time and contemplate what they'll do as they consider three different agents (1 noted account, 2 confirmed via SM) created a paper trail assuring her she'd get 5k MR for each transaction.

On the plus side, she has been using her Amex accounts pretty heavily lately so perhaps that will factor into the decision.
