I joined Business Extra a few weeks ago, was trying to add my flights history today, but all of them gave me the "Ticket Number entered is not valid for Business Extra Credit" error. I pulled the travel information (ticket number, departure date, etc...) straight from my AA.com activity's page. Flights were in June, July, August, 2x November using AA through the AA.com website, mix of economy and business class. Is calling their CS the best way to get this fixed?

There's nothing to fix: "flights taken prior to enrollment in the Business Extra program are not eligible for flight credit" (https://www.businessextra.com/earn/r...ght-credit.htm)

Gotcha, but one of them is post enrollment and I'm getting the same code so at the very least that should work? I got the "Welcome to Business Extra" email on 11/08, flew from LAX to PHL on 11/29, same error.

Try submitting just that one without the others... and yeah, call if that doesn't work. As long as no one else has claimed the credit already (this happened to me once!) you should be able to get the points...

this is a diffcult program - I've been sitting on a bxp1 upgrade for a while, not able to apply it
today went out of my way to book a "V" code flight, the online booking tool didnt work to apply upgrade, called, the agent wasnt able to do anything he escalated internally , answer was "so many bxp1 upgrades have been requested on this route, we dont have any more room on waitlist " ... there are several seats in first |
A bit late in the day but good to see American Airlines have extended Business Extra points again. Those due to expire at the end of December 2021 have been extended to December 31 2022.

I do have points expiring, and got the notice about using my expiring miles before Dec 31st. Nothing about extending the expiration.

I would be very surprised if the extension for expiration was targeted. Perhaps the emails being sent out are staggered?

Just to say that I nearly missed a BXP1 upgrade at JFK yesterday. The agent wasn't familiar with BusinessExtra and so didn't know what to do.
I reassured him about it and got a First seat on my JFK-LAX A321. |
Same as others above, got the "user your points before they expire" email also on 12/17. I think they are rewarding some type of accounts (maybe ones who have flown more during pandemic or previous high value or large accounts, etc.). I'm a very small account and did NOT get extended.
