Issues with AA IT - both web and app
I have been experiencing new AA IT issues with both the web and app.
1. Phone number for mobile comes up with the home number instead. Fix is to make home number also the mobile number.
2. Just today 12/28/2025 - cancelled a flight that was on hold but flight PNR won't leave list of trips - both web and app.
3. Booking new flights - they don't show in the list of trips.
4. AA cancelled one segment of a flight I have in March, and rebooked on another flight, but I received no email or text notification.
Not sure if we are just starting to experience new IT issues with the recent off shore transfer of AA's IT.

#4 is certainly nothing new, when schedule changes happen sometimes it can days for an email notification to come, sometimes it can take weeks, and other times you might not get anything at all.
For #2/#3 I assume you've tried logging out and back in again, stopping the app and restarting, clearing cache and cookies, all the usual stuff.
Every now and then I might have a trip that gets hung up (or won't show up) but it usually fixes itself in due time.

When I am going to change seats on existing PNRs, when the seat map loads it shows every seat is full (for April trips when the flight is definitely not full). Tried on iPhone app, iPad app, and Google Chrome on my laptop. Noticed it last night as well but figured it was a glitch in on iPad.

In the past I have called to lock it in, but it should clear in a day - but sometimes someone else might have that seat.
In my case - I was moved to a later flight that is a shorter connect time - so not a flight aircraft change - but cancelled flight and rebooked on next flight.

I just saw some schedule changes in feb/mar with no notification and a seat change. I went to look at seats, and it shows the one I'm in and all others occupied on 6 different flights 3 different tickets. Hard to imagine all the seats taken on all the flights. they must be updating stuff

Yes, this is likely the major schedule change update starting in April (in addition to the normal Saturday night updates). I'm sure it's been discussed here already as I have been gone much of the week, but many reports on the DFW changes from 13 to 9 banks to help improve reliability. connections, etc. The changes were to be updated last night. AA's IT is bad, as it is, but Sunday is basically the worst day for expecting anything like this to work. Flightly told me two of my flights have time changes (very small, so not an issue) but it's not even showing on AA yet.

I've got changes (a few minor, most major) to 5 of my 6 future flights.
When I attempt to make a change I get the following message so it would appear that things are still in flux.

Your flight is currently being rescheduled
You’re unable to change your flight right now. Once your flight is rescheduled, you’ll receive an email with your new flight details and can come back to make changes.

I just got the email that my summer trip home from Europe had changed. (seat map was screwed up like others reported yesterday). I am pretty sure this is still the best flight for me, but clicked on the link to change trip and got errors.
I was really hoping something would change to my trip to Europe to get rid of a super long layover in Chicago, but instead my return flight was changed and now went from a short layover in DFW to a much longer one. Oh well. Chances are still good that something changes again.

I keep getting errors when trying to pay for a flight on the app, then went over to the website and it declined it saying a bank error. I am 99% it isn't a bank error because I just made another purchase. Anyone else having this issue? Been happening all day.

I still have two award trips that aren't quite reticketed yet for end of April. But yesterday, SWO wasn't working at all on AA's website for pulling flights between April 9th (or so) and end of May, and now it at least comes up with searches.
One of my trips is showing in the app (with the x-d out seat maps) with just a small change in flight times, but the the other is showing a full day earlier departure, overnight layover in a different city, and the old flight time/plane on the last leg which is no longer accurate. Something very close to my original option exists (just 20 minutes change in flight times), so I hope the system just puts me back on it so I don't have to call in (then again, if I call in, maybe the agent will be able to just put me on an even better flight -- I chose the flights I did purely because they were 6K points, but I absolutely don't want an overnight layover in PHL with a 11PM flight in and 5AM flight out).

Have a trip which changed quite a bit for May 2026. Still see a completely blocked seat map as of 5pm ET today. How come AA takes (literally) days for this to all process and allow for changes/new seat assignments? Im used to UA where everything is conveniently available though the App within maybe 12-24 hours after schedule changes are loaded.
