Odd flight ending

Okay, AA2003 DFW-PSP yesterday was a bit odd. After pulling up to the gate and jet bridge attached the seat belt sign remained on. FA announced all must remain seated and buckled in. Some maintenance guy came on and stood at the front galley. After a few minutes, the FA in front told us we were "ok:" and we deplaned. Right outside the door were two cops. I would not have found this as odd had the cops boarded and escorted someone off, but as is, it just seems strange. Looking back, the whole flight had its oddities - the FC FA was nice, but so slow. I don't think the first meal was out by the halfway point. She disappeared and another FA took over. Maybe she was just feeling unwell. Also, Capt. announced to prepare for landing well ahead of normal time citing reports of turbulence. Again, not surprising - the heat off the desert can bounce things around a lot. But the flight from that point until landing was smoother than much of the earlier parts of the flight. All-in-all, perhaps not overly remarkable, but still a bit odd. Curious if anyone know what the end was about.

I would guess that a passenger said something or did something unexpected to the FA who "disappeared". Either it wasn't "arrest-worthy" or perhaps she wasn't absolutely sure who did it. For example, say someone pinched the FA's leg (but she didn't see exactly who did -- could have been row 3 or row 4). And the pinching example is a real-life example.

Maybe a VIP onboard that the LEOs were meeting/escorting. Doesn't really explain the FA situation.

Could be they were waiting for someone who disembarked after you.
