I have the citi / american executive co-branded card. Since making CK I have transferred ALL of my spending outside of marriott spending to my citi card. Some months I have had to pay off the card once a week. they have never complained a peep about it. thus far all they have done is double my credit limit, twice.

If you are fully paying Citi, why would they be upset about you maxing out your credit card on a weekly basis if you are fully paying your balance? Citi has consistently increased my credit limit without me requesting it since they see me spending more and more and always paying the full balance.

I dont know, but I have long seen people say that generally speaking banks dont approve of you spending more than your credit limit in a single cycle, even though there is no hard limit on total monthly spending.

I have done that many times with CITI and they just increased my credit limit so not sure why anyone would be concerned if you are paying the full balance

Well, as I said, thats been my experience too, hence the whole point I was trying to make.

You asked why that might be a concern, I'm just saying I have long seen people say that it is. Why? who knows. Maybe if citi thinks I'm good for 10 grand in credit, they have a hard time understanding why I'm charging 50 grand in purchases every month, or however the numbers might work out...

I dont think theres any reason to believe this is true. For the past two years Ive spent between three and four million dollars a year across a couple different miles cards (Citi included) that all have limits between 25k-50k.

In some cases Ill pay the card off every two days or so. Last year at the start of the AA year for example I charged about $200,000 on the Citi card in month one to wrap up EXP for the year, which took about 7-8 payments in the same billing cycle.

its all legitimate business expenses from a wide variety of vendors, including software licenses, travel, supplies, you name it.

I have been doing this for years and none of the issuers have complained at all. They mostly increase the limits and give me better offers for new products.

Never had a problem making a CC payment between statements and getting AA miles or whatever for the full spend. Just did it with my AA card last month and they followed up with an increase in the limit.
