I was looking on EF too. If you were looking at seatmaps on EF, you need to be looking at Flight Availability instead. Not everyone who is confirmed on a flight has a seat assigned. There are now 2 seats available on AA2186 and AA1336, but they will probably need some luck to have 4 seats available on one flight.

Yup I flew over 140 segments this year so I am pretty well versed, I think it was more a matter of when I checked vs when you checked, I looked a fair bit prior to my post

Thanks, everyone - super helpful.

As suggested, we were rebooked in First on the first flight tomorrow. No hotel was offered as the delay was weather-related.

There are lots of hotels within a short shuttle ride from DFW and all reasonably priced tonight. As I see you're a Hilton Diamond I would go to their app to book something. The Grand Hyatt is also wide open but it ain't cheap. Do you have any trip delay insurance that will cover the hotel?
