It is a paid ticket, in business class, the flight is late June. I booked AA with this stop as it is was like $2K cheaper... Thanks for your help!
When you ask for the new flight tell them the AA codeshare flight number as it will be a much easier rebooking process for the agent. "It looks like there's a nonstop from Houston to Doha, flight AA8121, can you please just move me to that?" |

JJeffrey, I don't think you've gone far enough down the table. What you have is the Codeshares MCT and the interterminal connections out of JFK. Surely this applies:
Edit: Also seen this in the table, so now I'm confused: The MCT's when switching airports is confusing though. 2 hours is way too little for a reliable connection between LGA-JFK, so any airline that is selling tickets that include a LGA-JFK connection will have an airline specific MCT that overrides this. Interestingly looking at DL their MCT for a LGA-JFK D>I is only 3 hours. |

Oh, then hands down I would call AA, say that there was a schedule change and your connection is now below the MCT, and ask to be rebooked on the QR nonstop.

I just called and they said everything was legal and no change is needed! Maybe it will get flagged again...
AA.com will not even sell you this connection today as it's below MCT. Something is up. Most likely the agent just didn't look deep enough and saw that it was tickected and thought it must be ok. I would try HUCA, when you call if the agent says its ok again then ask them if they could try booking a dummy booking from scratch for the exact same flights, when they can't combine the flights then see what they say. |

I'm guessing you're on the IAH-LGA that arrives at 5:35p connecting to JFK-DOH at 9:30p?

Searching IAH-DOH on AA no longer shows LGA as a connection point. I would call back and press them on this and ask them to try to find a legal routing IAH-DOH on AA that includes a single stopover in LGA when they tell you it's a legal connection. There isn't one, as of now. Maybe you can then press them to put you on the AA codeshare operated by JetBlue from IAH-JFK direct. They changed the schedule on you, which busts the MCT that they publish. Should be an easy fix for them. One of the biggest reasons for the alliance with B6 was specifically to funnel traffic into JFK for long haul AA connections.

Are MCTs for LGA->EWR / SWF / JFK all the same at 4 hours? Imagine going LGA to SWF! It doesn't mater here but I think DL's 3hr LGA->JFK sounds the most accurate.
Personally, with B6's reliability, I'd rather take AA to LGA than B6 to JFK. |

And neither AA nor B6 serves SWF any more. Unless aa is interlining with OG?

1-1.5 hours would be comfortable going from one airport to the other, whether by car or public transport. I would vote for public transport:
Option #1: Q70 bus (LGA) to Jackson Heights -> E subway line to Sutphin Blvd -> Jamaica Airtrain to JFK (vicer versa) - $11, or $12 if you need to buy a new MetroCard Option #2: Q70 bus (LGA) to Jackson Heights -> E subway line to Kew Gardens -> Q10 bus to Lefferts Blvd - Lefferts Blvd Airtrain to terminals - $2.75 total but requires more time. I would do option #2 but this is may not be the best option if you are a risk-averse person. |

By policy, AA can offload you on an intl flight if you're not there at T30. How exactly does one do this? |
4 really is generous. I would be comfortable with 3-3.5.
0.5hr to get out of the airport & collect checked bags 1.5hr for travel on public transit (1 is possible if the stars align - I wouldnt bet my trip on it) ... if I needed to be faster I would take a cab, that is really 1hr MAX unless you get extremely unlucky 1.0hr minimum baggage cutoff for international 0-0.5hr for extra buffer It is *minimum* connection time not dawdle connection time. |
