Perhaps I've just been lucky, but I've never missed an upgrade DFW-MEX-DFW as a platinum pro. All of my flights have been on 737. I've been in Platinum Pro since 2019, and I take three round trips per year.
All of my flights are always on tuesday, wednesday, or saturday.

I'm guessing this is a big reason for our differences in experiences. The upgrade offers have become cheap, though. They are always under $200, and I have seen them for as low as $100 before.
