Heck, I'd bite at $49. I will have many hours to kill at the airport and will want to use that airport-operated lounge. Current offer is $205.

An upgrade on SAV-CLT will not include lounge access.

Correct, for AA lounges.

However, SAV has a Passport Club lounge:
Passport Club - Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport (savannahairport.com)

The Club is open seven days a week from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. to Passport Club Members, American Express Platinum card holders, First Class Ticket Holders, Southwest Airlines A-List and A-List Preferred Members, and airline club members only.

Bolding mine.

Thanks. This being an AA forum, the AAdmirals Club in CLT was my default setting. :)

Rebooked MCO-DCA (about 27 hours prior to flight). Upgrade cleared about 20 minutes after the rebook was ticketed.

Assuming you're talking about Jan 4 then the evening SAV-CLT flight is J7 (meaning there's 7 or more seats left for sale up front) so right now your chances are pretty good.

I'm flying SAV-CLT on Jan 3rd on AA2349. Is there a way to check the inventory somewhere? Or would I need an ExperFlyer subscription for that?

I might do a same day change when I'm there if available, but I'll take the original flight if there's no availability (I booked the evening flight because I wasn't sure what time I'd get to SAV)

Awesome! Thank you!

Debating between booking a BA biz class one way in business for SFO-LHR-AMS on Dec. 31 or a cheap RT Econ Dec. 31 SFO-PHL-AMS on AA204, then upgrading to J with SWU on the AA flight.

If the latter, what do y’all think my odds are at clearing a SWU as a EXP? How about at 200k LP versus the 800+k I’m at? (Friend/workmate is considering flying same day and routes as me.)

Its been nearly 5 years since I’ve tried to get upgraded on AA metal in the states I think, so I apologise for what may be an obvious question.

PHL-AMS on 31/12 is C7 so that upgrade should clear on request (only 4 seats assigned in J).

SFO-PHL is C0 but has 9 unassigned seats in J. However, Y is almost completely full with very few unassigned seats.

BA SFO-LHR is the old Club World seating, which some like and some hate, but there are seats available with aisle access (and no-one stepping over you) on both flights that day.

I would choose BA for the longer overnight flight and some good rest (I find the old BA Club World seat very good for sleeping because your feet are not squeezed into a small box).

Newly qualified EXP, cleared at the 100 hour mark for SFO-CLT and then again for CLT-HPN, after getting upgraded both ways on Alaska SFO-PDX round trip. 2023 off to a good start.

12/27, STL - DCA, upgraded T-70 as a PlatPro.

Was surprised this cleared so early, given all the current travel rebookings going on, and given that the outbound did not clear until just prior to boarding.

Had a WN award ticket out of MDW for 12/31 that I rebooked last night onto AA out of ORD for very obvious reasons. Upgrade cleared at T-88.

As a new EXP who only leveled up in September, I've been impressed by my 100% upgrade rate on the 7 flights I've taken since.

incognitoMD Dec 27, 2022 9:09 pm

Data point.

I had asked a question earlier up thread about whether a non AA oneworld sapphire would get prioritized like AA platinum on an upgrade list. I had my JL number (oneworld sapphire) associated with my reservation, and called to waitlist a miles and copay upgrade and provided my AA number. This was for a MIA-LHR trip, booked in O fare. The actual upgrade cleared approximately 90 hours before departure. At departure time, the list was ~10 people with only #1 having a check mark. I don't believe I would have otherwise cleared, as I essentially had 0 loyalty points at the time of the flight, and was booked in the the second lowest fare bucket (second only to basic economy).

incognitoMD Dec 27, 2022 9:15 pm

Also another data point.

Newly minted platinum pro (thanks to Hyatt Globalist/Instant status pass), as I otherwise credit all of my AA flights to JL. Just cleared MIA-LGA later in the week with a companion. Exactly at the 72 hour mark.
