Changing Birth date in AA computer
Americans computer system has my wife’s birthday incorrect. We have tried for 3 years to get it changed as it precludes her from using Precheck. We have tried at ticket counters, asked for supervisors, called American numerous times and followed instructions to email copies of passports, drivers licenses ect.. Nothing gets the Bday changed. Any suggestions besides flying to Dallas and going to the corporate offices?

I would have your wife call AAdvantage Customer Service this week during normal business hours (800-882-8880, this is not the normal reservations number); Have her tell them that the personal details are incorrect on her AAdvantage account and need correcting...

I had to do this about a year ago - not for date of birth, but for suffix. AA systems don't properly handle suffixes, so with Jr. on my name, it throws everything off.
Advantage CS was the group that finally did it - I had to send in the passport pic as well. It took 4 or 5 times before I got an agent that actually figured it out - so as someone said above, just keep trying and stay on them until they get it done. It's a total pain, but worth it in the end.

Ask for "web support." They're generally clueful. "I've changed everything and sent in the docs as requested, but the web site still shows the wrong information." Make the complaint about the web site being wrong... and one of the clueful web support folks will finally get it fixed.

My Delta profile had my birthday day wrong. It took 6 months for them to eventually fix it after I requested it multiple times.
To get precheck I would make reservations on the Delta site without logging in and without my FF number. After the reservation was ticketed I would add my FF number in.
Not sure if this would work for your wife in the meantime on AA while you work to get this issue fixed.
