Or, the 1989 movie Traveling Man staring John Lithgow. The poor man's version of this movie. I thought Traveling Man was a drama. It's listed as a comedy.

503 posts!! Some interesting comments there too.. Assuming the current AA version is the edited one referred to in the OT. Wonder if the unedited version is available.

One of my all time favorite movies. I think it holds up well and it's very well acted.
On a personal note, when I was first dating my now wife she really didn't enjoy or understand frequent travel. I showed her the movie to help explain things.

While the theme is more on the importance of having a stable relationship. and the FF stuff is more a secondary twist. But the movie is well done and sends a message to think about.
I guess if they made one today - the could really put a lot more of the FF gaming in it - FT, blogs, schemes, MS, mileage runs, etc.

In case anyone wants to go down memory lane, there is a thread in the old AA forum from when the movie was first released:
OT: "Up In The Air" George Clooney Movie - Heavy AA presence
When I flew through STL a few years ago, I arrived early, it wasn't busy, and I chatted with AA staff at several points. The check-in AAgent said that she was working and got to meet George Clooney, that he was very nice and gracious during filming there. She said that they mostly used areas of the terminal that weren't open to the public.
Then a few months later, I flew through OMA, and got to visit again and chat with some AAgents about the movie. They shared similar sentiments about George Clooney, Anna Kendrick, and others.
I've seen the movie several times, and find it odd that I also use the same 3 programs (AA, Hilton, and Hertz) that he did... But I doubt I'm alone there. Of course when the movie came out, my preferences were different (US, Hilton, Hertz).

Oh yeah, I hear you. I also hate when in movies, there will be a scene depicting a long-haul international flight and then they show footage of an MD80 or 737 landing. Definitely annoying as an aviation enthusiast..

Experienced FT folks would be great at finding those mistakes. Being in the fire service, I am quick to identify the mistakes in Ladder 49, Backdraft, and the dozens of mistakes in Chicago Fire!
Watching that movie with a SO who doesn't understand frequent travel may have an opposite effect!
