BA Gold/GGL and AA Same-Day Flight Change?
I think I read somewhere that AA treats BA's top-tier elites almost as well as its own top-tier elites? What are the options, if any, is available for free for BA Gold/GGL in terms of same-day flight change on an AA ticket?

IME as a BA elite, it generally needs to be direct flights (no connections) and NOT Basic Economy or an award.
But it's been awhile and I'm sure some AA experts have more recent experience.

What did you do in the past when you wanted to do an SDC? Low probability in Y and higher probability in J?

SDFC is available, for a fee, in certain markets, and is also available free of charge on certain ticket types, even if one does not have status. But the only special privilege for BA elites is free standby for a later flight. (All AA passengers get free standby on an earlier flight.)

When can a BA elite request standby? What about seat selection? When will the decision be made?

All AA passengers -- except those traveling on Basic Economy tickets -- can select seats at time of booking. BA elites traveling in Economy can select Main Cabin Extra (extra-leg-room) seats free of charge, at a time that depends on BA elite level. Details here:
