Royal Air Maroc award flight cancellation
Any thoughts on the following situation with RAM
I had roundtrip business class award tickets to Casablanca in March. Outbound through JFK, return through Miami. RAM cancelled operations in Miami altogether, and cancelled their JFK flight for my original return date - but have scheduled it for the following day. I have requested to delay my return a day so that I can get back through JFK, but either AA or RAM as not allowing this since no award tickets are available on that date. If RAM cancel my return are they not obliged to get me home somehow? Thanks |

I’m seeing great AT availability on the AA app, but worried it’s phantom availability. Anyone had issues recently?
also anyone flown AT business class this year? Is it still a beautiful trolley presentation with full beverage service or is it all on one tray covered up with no fanfare and limited drinks? also anyone can comment on the lounge in CMN? Hot food, wine/beer available these days? |
I made a number of AAdvantage speculative bookings on AT in anticipation of a coming devaluation. Now I'm trying to cancel most of them and running into some sort of bug.
When I try to cancel on the website, I get an error that says try again later. I called AA and the first agent said she couldn't even get the reservations to load. Hung up and tried another agent who said it was "acting funny". She took down all the PNRs and said she would cancel them within the hour. This was 2 days ago. I doubt there's anything I can do other than continuing to hang up and call again. |

Royal Air Maroc Award Inventory
I dug around on search and did not find an answer. Our plans involving about 700k in award bookings just went up in flames due to school calendar changes and so I am scrambling to find something else. AT seems to release 3 but no more than 3 business awards on many flights and we need 5 (possibly 6). For YUL-CMN and JFK-CMN it looks like there is both a daytime and an overnight flight so it is conceivable we could split up and arrive in relatively close fashion. The other idea I had was to take the daytime flight and put a couple of us in economy and see if AT opens up any more business award seats. Does anyone have any data points, or even links to others posting elsewhere about how AT manages award inventory?

AT availability problem via aa.com
I currently hold a 57.5k Aadvantage award ticket on the daylight JFK-CMN on Labor Day (9-5) in AT J.
I searched and found a 57.5k award on the overnight IAD-CMN on the previous night (9-4), also in AT J, which is preferable for several reasons, one of which is that I live in DC. I tried to change the existing ticket to the new itinerary via the AApp and then via aa.com. Both said to call reservations because this can't be done online. I tried to purchase the IAD-CMN itinerary as new, with the idea that I'd then cancel and refund the original. The website told me the itinerary was no longer available, and offered a list of alternatives starting with the one it had just told me was unavailable. Click. Unavailable and please choose one of these alternatives. Rinse and repeat ad infinitum. I called the EXP line and the AAgent couldn't see the IAD-CMN availability and told me to hold the new itinerary online, which I tried again and still wasn't allowed to do. The AAgent transferred me to aa.com support; I'm still in the queue for a live AAgent there. I searched Expert Flyer and it says it can't fulfill this request. Any clues what's going on? Anybody know a way around it? Thanks! |
Phantom award availability is a known problem on aa.com.
Were you able to book a connecting flight from WAS to JFK as part of your JFK-CMN award? |

Just booked two J award tix BCN-CMN(overnight)-JFK-ORD-MCI in late December. Spent an hour on the phone with the agent and she was able to marry all the segments. Award still shows "on request" so I hope this isn't a case of phantom award availability. Agent was able to get us seat assignments on all flights as well so that's a good sign. Fingers crossed.

Because the agent was able to pull inventory and request the ticket, this isn't phantom award space. If it doesn't ticket within a couple days, call and have the agent push it through / check that taxes etc. were paid correctly.

AA award experiences on Royal Air Maroc
Anyone have a feel for or experience booking J class awards on Royal Air Maroc. Looking next summer at Italy and its 57,500 miles each way in business ($20 in fees). BA is also $57,500 miles each way but over $500 in fees. Huge difference. Is there a massive service difference for 1W elites or for AA flyers? Any experience with CMN as a transfer airport?
Finally, is the AA award on RAM refundable or changeable? I have two tickets on hold. AA.com says there are three seats open, but cannot get a third seat. Might just pay for J class seat #3. |
