AA booking of air maroc space problems
 
Looking to book RAK-CMN-JFK.
Space shows as available on Air Maroc and AA.
Trying to book online - unable to book.
Call AA, agent can't see the space at all.
I ask her to check the outbound, she can't see the space and I can and can book it, which I did and placed on hold.
I asked her if she has had these issues with air maroc, but it's too new for them to know if it's been problematic.
Any experience with AA/OW booking of thesr awards?

I booked 2 business class awards within the last couple of weeks. Online, no issues. However I was only going as far as Casablanca. I did try some searches for an onward flight to Tunis, but couldn't see availability. Have you tried just booking CMN - JFK, to see if it the additional leg that's causing issue

Yes, I did, and had the agent look as well - no luck. She wasn;t seeing the space at all, and I couldnt book it.
The really weird part was being able to book the outbound when she couldn't see it. It was a US agent, haven't tried Oz or NZ.

The space is avalable on Air Maroc but not on BA and IB, btw.

It would not be the first issues AA has had with phantom partner awards

No, it would not.
But in my experience, that would be the first time I could book an award than an agent couldn't.

Kind of interesting looking at results for awards that include AT. Not sure if anyone else has seen this, but There are a number of awards that transit CMN to Europe for 57.5k (saaver biz), including ones that transit LHR-CMN-xxx. Now that the travel ban on US tourists is locked for summer 2020, i am rebooking some awards for a middle east trip this Christmas and was surprised to see AT options in the mix not only to ME but also boomeranging back to Europe.

Has anyone else noticed that AT does not publish fares beyond its gateway cities? Since AAdvantage requires a published fare, it makes their transatlantic flights useless unless you actually live in BOS, JFK, IAD, MIA, YUL or are willing to pay for a positioning flight. I don't see the point in joining an alliance if you are not going to use it to feed your flights.

Can you ask for CMN-JFK and see if that is available? Taxi RAK-CMN is a bit over 2 hours and not more then $100. I've done that.

Try booking their African destinations like ABJ or TUN. There is no published fare for US cities other than their gateways.

Huge amounts of availability on some routings i looked at. From Seattle I can find 5 biz awards via BOS/JFK/IAD on AH metal from the east coast. I prefer the longer LAX/DFW overnight flights to Europe so will pass. But its lots of availability!

Hi all, I purchased two business class AAward tickets late Friday night for July 2021: TPA-CLT-JFK-CMN-RAK. More than 60 hours later, the booking still shows as "On Request" on AA.com. I have booked many AAwards with at least one partner segment over the past 10+ years, but this is the first time one has shown "Pending" or "On Request" more than 24 hours after I purchased it. Has anyone else encountered this?

I recently had a QR AA award booking that was on request for over 72 hours. I called in and it was ticketed within 15 minutes.
