You missed the point, but we love pedants here.

Your response appears reasonable and consistent with a realistic solution. However, I dare say that those who keep posting about their poor experiences would beg to differ.

If AA management doesn't see this as a problem that needs immediate fixing then it doesn't matter whether 100% of us agree AA has a virtual plethora of mean spirited, rude FAs. Or even a smidgen of said type of FAs. The reasonable reaction would be to take your business elsewhere. I assuming that if one is the type of flyer with lots of paid premium flying there's no shortage of airlines out there vying for your business. If you can prove you are a very profitable customer DL apparently is more than happy to status match.

If you're a paid premium flyer, status doesn't do a whole lot for you.

IRROPs is the biggest benefit.

If AA allowed you to self service or proactively rebook, then sure. Unfortunately, they still stick to the retarded rolling delay strategy; which means if you are flying xxx-DFW-yyy for example and the inbound DFW-xxx is delayed, AA will not let you rebook as the xxx-DFW is showing on-time until basically the scheduled departure.

Which results in missing DFW-yyy, something that could be mitigated if they'd post the obvious and inevitable delay, so one could go xxx-CLT-yyy instead, for example.

As a result of MX, AA put me on UA a few months ago out of IAD - and walking through their concourse, I could see their boards showing DELAYED - reason: Mechanical, which was a refreshing breath of truth to see. (And this is coming from someone who can't stand UA)

OP experience is very on brand for AA in premium classes including First and my experience 8 out of 10 times. One out of 10 the experience is just average and 1 out of 10 I get a FA that’s outstanding. Overall AA doesn’t care and FAs can get away with anything they want. Union rules and AA won’t stand up.

Flying AA longhaul in J/F is awesome, it really makes you appreciate it even more when you get on another airline and actually get quality service.
