3X / Daily Flight Frequency Decision Making

How often will they "update" the frequency of flights on this route? This can't be normal in such a short time frame of announcements..

Nov 26, 2019 (from https://www.routesonline.com/news/38...from-oct-2020/ )

"American Airlines in winter 2020/21 season filed service increase for Dallas/Ft. Worth – Tel Aviv route. From 25OCT20, the oneWorld member plans to operate this route on daily basis, instead of 3 weekly. Following schedule is effective from 03NOV20, subject to Government Approval."

Dec 2, 2019 (from https://www.routesonline.com/news/38...quency-in-w20/ )

"American Airlines during the week of 01DEC19’s schedule update further revised Dallas/Ft. Worth – Tel Aviv route for winter 2020/21 season. From 25OCT20, the oneWorld carrier will continue to operate 3 weekly flights with Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft. Previously the airline filed daily frequency in winter season."

It was never supposed/going to be daily, was an error.

Due to the virus, media reports say that AA won't be flying this route until 2021. I wonder if they will offer any alternatives to passengers already booked for Fall. I think a lot of passengers would still be looking forward to that trip, as the Fall would seem like a logical time to head back into the world.

Sure, reroute DFW-LHR-TLV

Are they actually doing that for passengers, including those on award travel? I imagine there are currently plenty of seats available.

Once schedule changes are filed for your dates, it will get rebooked.

I was looking to go from TLV to West coast US next year, this would have been super convenient. Now that its not flying, i was having a hard time lining up a BA flight exTLV w the milesaaver AA flight exLHR we wanted. What i found also worked well was a $50 flight from TLV-LCA and then a cheaper 57.5k award (vs 70k from TLV) from LCA-LHr-LAX, 5 of us at milesaaver level next year around New Years.

Pretty good chance of some significant schedule changes between now and then, patience and persistence should result in a more favorable routing when all is said and done. While it does involve some risk, I would pull the trigger now.

Well, it's been over 4 1/2 months since the last update, so the change only 6 days later was clearly an anomaly

Revisiting this thread because I was wondering if anyone knew how AA can fly a789 DFW to TLV but a 772 on the way home? I'm looking at the last week of November and outbound DFW to TLV flight #18 is all 789/s but then all the returns are flight #19 which is a 772. Doesnt the inbound 789 become the plane for the return? Is it possible its an eror on AA?

Or wait the JFK flight is a 772 so does it come from JFK then go back to Dallas? And the 789 goes where?

I was just hoping to get the 789 as I absolutely cant stand the Zodiac seats and I was a bit confused to see a 789 outbound but a 772 back for the same route

Thanks

There's been a lot of back-and-forth on the scheduling of this route, I've noticed. I was booked on it for a trip that I just canceled for other reasons. But they had re-scheduled me automatically because of some of the days of the week changes.
