in general, yes, but if this flight is on Southwest, they don’t have change fees and so there are probably easy ways around it. I assume he’d just need to cancel before departure, but I’m not entirely sure how WN works.

The Admirals Club closes at 12:45 am and reopens at 4:00 am. I believe that the Flagship Lounge hours are the same. I've no idea about the oneworld and QF lounges, but I highly doubt that they are open overnight.

Meh. Every airport has that last flight that is able to squeak out before a storm line makes the departure corridor unflyable. Sometimes its AA; sometimes its DL; sometimes it NK.

That evening line of t storms was quite impressive. I’ve spent a part of the summer about 70 miles east of JFK for my entire life and love watching these storms as they roll out over the end of long island.
While the disruption to commercial services is predictable, I am always watching the small private planes who venture out into this stuff. Nearly everyone last night used their brains, but i did find someone trying to get from Rhode Island to Teterboro in a Cesna, battling that line of storms at 1500 feet. A few abrupt turns over Long Island to dodge parts of the storm, but they ultimately landed in NJ. That’s an hour or so of flying that easily could have been rescheduled by a few hours and been a hell of a lot smoother! We sat outside in a covered porch as the storm passed over, I cannot imaging being on a small plane and venturing through that!!
