Just the dubious honor of joining the 50k other people with MM status.

For 2MM my colleague got 4 SWUs

fwiw, my boyfriend at the time, in the mid nineties, became a million miler on delta. they put a picture of him in his home club in tpa (along with the other million milers) and he was always recognized by the crew and sometimes even the captain. he also got to choose some kind of gift--don't remember what it was. i guess the times have changed.

Thank you all for your help! Sounds like I shouldn't look forward to any shout-outs at the airport. :(

My husband got nothing - maybe at 2M he may get recognition but not counting on it -

Aside from lifetime Gold and, (depending on when he passed 1MM,) either miles or SWUs

I got an email a few weeks later, then a card with my shiny new Gold Aadvantage card.

Truth be told, I had no clue at the time I was on a million mile flight.

I hit 2MM last month and got a new card and new bag tags (being an EXP i guess)

the 4SWU Expire at Jan 18 so.... the SWU's do have shelf life... I wish they would have made this fact a little more obvious so you won't have your hopes up to be able to save it for a trip in a couple years down the road.

Got a free WIFI code after tweeting I was going to hit 1MM during a LAX-JFK flight. That's about it..

When I passed 1mm I got some EVIPs and obviously lifetime gold. I also got new EXP cards I think with 1mm on them and a mailed congratulatory form letter.

On the flight where I hit my 1MM status, I got a Coke, but no mention from the FA of congratulations.

Welcome to Flyertalk. :)

It gets better when you reach 10 million miles.

Only in a Hollywood movie would a multi million traveler get in flight recognition.

Each time I have crossed a million mile threshold, I have taken the exact opposite approach that you have, and been rewarded immeasurably.

Instead of starting off with, "what's in it for me" I arrived at the gate with two dozen donuts for the gate agents and flight crew. Pop your head into the pilots cabin and offer them a couple of donuts in honor of your landmark commemorating your loyalty to AA.

From barf bags filled with vodka bottles to sealed bottles of champagne or whatever other swag was on board, I have always made a party out of hitting the million mile markers.

As to printed benefits, they are evolving as always.

Are some of you really expecting that you get recognition in a flight or at the airport???
