Why is my AA Award-CX Metal Flight Coded as Ai?

I got an email today from AA telling me:

We made a change to your flight, and this is your updated itinerary. We issued new ticket numbers but did not charge you.

Other flight changes may include updates to departure/arrival times, flight numbers, aircraft type, operating carrier or class of service.

I used AAdvantage Miles for this booking. Why does it now say Ai instead of CX on the flight numbers?

It's not coded as AI. It just ran out of space to spell Cathay Pacific Airways. Just like the AA flight below says American Airlines and not AA.

It's the same reason why in the receipt - they don't spell your full middle name (if it's longer than the space alotted). I freaked out given CX's propensity to actually care about having your middle name in the resy until the EXP desk reassured me the ticket read the correct name

A question was asked, answers were provided; thanks to members who replied factually. It’s time for the thread to rest.
