Short-checking for long layover

Dear all,

First time posting in the AA forum, have tried to find the answer somewhere else but I couldn't. Sorry if the answer is somewhere in the forum.

Just wanted to know if it is possible to short-check my luggage? I will be on a flight from JFK to BRU through LHR, flight arrives in LHR at 10pm, leaves for BRU at 6am, will I be allowed to get my luggage in London? This is the flight between a back-to-back trip, (I'm travelling to the states, then traveling in Europe starting in BRU, I am based in LON)

Any information about how it could be done would be welcomed. If it matters I have Oneworld ruby, so I would be able to use business check-in.

Thanks!
Kelvin

It should be no problem given that your connecting flight isn't until the following day. Just tell the check-in agent at JFK to make sure the bags are tagged just to LHR, easy as that.
