Enhancements in Main Cabin Extra Seating (now Q2 2018)

Looks like they are upgrading MCE for free beverages and "preferred" overhead space.

Free wine and spirits in MCE is a big plus for me, as I’m crashing in status this year down to Plat. Hopefully they won’t also change eligibility rules for complementary MCE seating.

Not good news.

Bigger incentive for non-elites to pay for MCE, meaning less MCE seats for elites.

set my self up for that... I've got a few flights in february and wondering if i should pay for MCE... i can justify paying to half price MCE upgrade if they'll be serving free booze. $15 for 3 hours of beer??? easy...

These are the first steps to make MCE a separate class domestically, probably followed by complimentary upgrades to MCE only, down the line. There is no "free lunch", these are the seeds for the next major devaluation.

No, but you will soon pay more for MCE to subsidize the other people's drinking.

The way some fc service is now conducted, my revision may be on the mark.

I guess this means then they'll need to enforce who sits in those seats?

So, when will they be designating overhead bins in F as for passengers assigned to that cabin?
