MIA/RDU snack service, MIA/CLT snack basket

I flew MIA/RDU yesterday on a mid morning flight and there was a small continental breakfast snack served. When I flew CLT/MIA home today a late afternoon flight it was still the snack basket. Both of these flights are about the same block time, a few minutes over 2 hours. I wonder why one gets a snack service (meal service at meal times not sure) and the other one just a snack basket.

RDU-MIA is exactly 700 miles, which is the cutoff for a plated meal service vs. the snack basket. CLT-MIA is around 650 miles IIRC.

MSY-DFW had this a couple of times on the 6am flight. It was a yogurt with granola, milk, and a breakfast cake. Haven't seen it recently though on this route.
