If it stays the way it is (no further upgrades), will I have access to the FL in LAX and MIA or will the LAX-MIA have to clear for FL access? I tried looking to see if the LAX-MIA leg is a flagship route but all it says is PREMIUM on the website. I think it used to say “business” or “flagship business” before. Any ideas?

MIA-LIM does not qualify for Flagship Lounge access, only the Admirals Club.

Qualifying international

  • Asia
  • Australia
  • Europe
  • Middle East
  • New Zealand
  • South America (excluding Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, Guyana, Peru, Suriname and Venezuela)

Can I access a FFL as a BA Gold on a Domestic U.S. flight with an AA Boarding Pass and Aadvantage number on it?

Yes. I did this earlier in the week. As the agent is scanning your BP, mention that you have BA Gold and that you can provide your number.

That said, some agents will enforce the “departures only” rule (can’t enter the FL as a OWS/E with no onward flight).

Many thanks. I'll give it a try at DFW next week with a long domestic connection. The Capital One Lounge is next door so it would be a good opportunity to lounge hop.

Hi expert flyers,
I will arrive DFW at 10PM and have a F ticket for JAL to Tokyo the next day at 11AM, Can I get in FlagShip First Dining in DFW? is there any nap space for me to sleep until the next morning in AA Flagship lounge? thank you!

JL F doesnt get you into FFD although you could always ask/try. BA F now does get you in and there is a press release March 2022 stating somewhat vaguely & uncleary, as AA does it best, how FFD would be open to F on partner airlines.

Btw, all that said, I just realized FFD wouldnt even be open until after JL11 departs so Nvm. You of course can get into FL the morning of. Technically not allowed the night before but mention you are flying out on JL F the next day.

You will be asked to leave at closing time so you will have about 10-11 hours to kill in the airport unless you want to get a hotel...

The Grand Hyatt is attached to the D concourse where the FL is. Its very nice. You can go to their lobby and stay there likely til around 3am as I recall.

There is a Hyatt Regency also, super close but does require a quick shuttle.

FFD doesn’t open till lunch time, but FFL has a decent breakfast spread. Don’t forget to try out 14 th generation sake on your flight if they have; it’s special.

If you go all the way down in the lounge pass the showers and beverage station, to your right is the quiet lounge. Has lounge chaises and not the most comfortable. Just put eye shades, ear buds, and set an alarm.

Last time I was there some guy was doing push ups in that area, with music playing on his Iphone..

I think the OP was asking about actually sleeping over in the FL until the morning, or maybe I read it wrong. No way I see that being accomplished at DFW. I did do it at LAX once but FFD being closed (but yet accessible) and hiding in there then setting up a bed on a booth did work. But DFW will be way harder to pull an overnight at.

GH lobby is really nice and a place to lounge, relax and pass time for the overnight.

flying Lax-Jfk on redeye in Biz
can I use the lounge (Greenwich) on my arrival for a shower and bite ?

I have a similar question. I am arriving at JFK from Delhi on AA293 as an Executive Platinum. I am connecting onward on another AA flight on a separate ticket. Since I am arriving from India would I be permitted to enter the SoHo Lounge since my connecting flight is on a different ticket/PNR or will I have to go to AC near the 40 gates?

thanks!!

Separate tickets don't matter for lounge access purposes. Just save your DEL-JFK boarding pass to show for entry to Soho.

The one exception where separate tickets does seem to matter is in the case of an overnight layover for access via AA/AS status, given that you wouldn't have a same-day international itinerary. When I flew JFK-LAX-(overnight layover)-KIX last year on one ticket, I had no issues accessing SoHo at JFK, but I don't think I would have received access had JFK-LAX and LAX-KIX been on separate tickets.

Yep, that is true.

Further refinement to the question on 1 May 2024

Hello,

Looking for the experts to chime in on:

1) BA Gold (OW- Emerald) status
2) AA flights from DEN to MIA (last flight of the day, arriving MIA at 8:30 pm) connecting to the first flight the next day (MIA-SXM). These flights were booked using AA miles on aa.com

Would that allow for Flagship Lounge access upon arrival for dinner and before departure for breakfast? That is my reading of the T&C, though interested to learn from others

Many thanks,

David

AA typically allows Flagship Lounge access on arrival, so it shouldn't be a problem to access the FL at MIA that evening when you arrive from DEN. The next morning it will be no problem before your SXM flight.

Genwrally agree, although I was denied ORD FL last week on arrival (ironically by the same agent who admitted me the week before) with my BA Gold card as I didn’t have an onward flight. That is technically policy (certainly for non-AA elites; they are more generous with AA elites) so I went to the AC.

The OP will probably be fine, especially if the SXM flight is on the same PNR.
