Help - Reservation changed by AA?
Hi,
I'm scheduled to fly on AA 138 (HKG-DFW-LGA) on 18 Sept (Sun). I tried checking in at 24 hours before the flight, but noticed there were hardly any seats left.
A few hours later, I now realize that my booking has suddenly been changed to HKG-LAX-JFK on 19 Sept (Mon). I did not request this change and have not received any notification from AA.
Has anyone experienced like this? Did AA change my flight because the flight is overbooked? Who should I contact to discuss re-booking options? Anything else I should note?
Many thanks.

AA 138 uses the inbound aircraft from AA 193, which flies in from LAX. On Sept 17, 193 was cancelled due to aircraft maintenance, so that's why your flight was cancelled.

Consider yourself fortunate. I was scheduled on the same flight. AA moved me back a day on the HKG-DFW and DFW-HSV legs, but left my BKK-HKG leg intact, setting me up for a 24-hour layover in HKG.
No notification, of course.
I noticed it when I went to see if a Business Class upgrade had cleared, and saw that, instead, my MCE seat had turned into a plain Y seat. 30 minutes on the phone with AA PLT desk, at international rates, and we'd moved the BKK-HKG leg back a day.
A day later, MCE seats opened up.
Total Charlie Foxtrot at HKG. If you need wheelchair service, DO NOT transit HKG! EVER!
I almost did not make it to the gate in time to board the airplane, despite MULTIPLE attempts to persuade the Plaza lounge people to call the wheelchair folks and move me early.
The J upgrade did come through. At the gate. With the countdown clock running...
