AA 193 was delayed 1/25. Was scheduled for 11:55 PM, we boarded, and eventually had to deplane and get rescheduled to 3 PM the next day, cause of mechanical. I thought the airline dealt with it as well as they could... long lines of people waiting to get hotel/food vouchers and getting rebooked.
I was surprised it was the same pilots and cabin crew the next day. I felt bad; they must have been dead-tired.

You're lucky they handled it that way. I had a coworker on AA193 back in September, and instead of delaying the flight ~14 hours or so and putting people in hotels, they went with rolling delays in 2-3 hour blocks all night up until an 11am departure.

I feel fortunate despite it significantly disrupting my trip. We were delayed about 30 minutes at a time, they gave up around 1, I was at the hotel by ~2, used a voucher at Starbucks the next morning, then got to enjoy the Qantas lounge again the next day for lunch.

Wow, surprised the crew wouldn't time out for that... maybe they brought in a new one.

Yeah, they completely replaced the crew.

Who's on 193 on 03/07? or 192 on 03/13? Just checking on availability of meeting FT member(s) along the way either at my departure (SFO), in LAX or at HKG.
