That's not the rule on the books though, right? Thought you were supposed to be able to refresh the app if you had a digital boarding pass.

12/28 (requested 11/8): LAX-HKG did not clear until boarding started. Quite annoying as it cuts your lounge time short since the GA's firmly state "if you're not at the gate when your name is called, you will be skipped for the SWU". Nonetheless, still very grateful to clear, was #2 of 8.
SWUs Do Not Have Windows. This thread is truly bizarre. |

Why do people continue to post about SWUs on international long-hauls in this thread?

T-100 came and went
12 open seats in F but upgrades didn't clear at T-100 on AA86 PDX-ORD
|
Sitting with F7, actually 14 out of 16 seats appearing open on my upcoming PHX-ORD redeye. We're long past T100, closing in on T-24.
I mean, i know they don't want to just GIVE me the seat. But it would be nice. Considering my SWU that follows it has a snowball's chance in hell of clearing. |
My experience is that upgrades are clearing at T-4.
Last 8am flight I had - I set the alarm at 4am (when I normally would get up at 5am) so I could change seat if upgraded if I wanted to. Turns out the upgrade occurred at 4am and I changed my seat and went back to bed til 5am. |

I'm flying DCA-PWM tomorrow and returning Sunday. I have not been upgraded for either flight although confirmable upgrades are available:
1/13 AA4422 is showing C4 with 4 of 8 open seats 1/15 AA5414 is showing C5 with 11 of 12 open seats Are they hoping they can still sell the upgrades? Or are they penalizing me for not re-qualifying to EXP |
