No, but if you bother to read the thread, you'll see several reasons that they might be doing this.

As a matter of fact I read all the way back to posts from 2015 and From what I can tell the only reason sometimes given was weather concerns and in this case its sunny all week in both DFW and MKE

You are right--there is nothing new about upgrades clearing before ticketing. However, at least to me, it did not sound like the AAngel was simply referring to the "new AA." But I admit I don't really know what specifically she was talking about, and I was more focused on fixing my itinerary than on pressing her about what she meant.

Also, why do you highly doubt there is new IT? With the switch over to revenue earning in a month, there has to be new IT in place, no? Not to mention that upgrade priority is changing next year. So is it that far of a stretch to imagine that the new IT that will be put in place over the coming months would affect the timing of how upgrades are being processed and cleared now (even if the way upgrades are prioritized has not yet changed)?

yeah. The new RM system that AA is trying to implement (issues) will take allot of the backend manual process out of upgrades and rely more analytics.

Was booked on a flight SFO-ORD
Both revenue and SWU upgradable seats are available
F6 A6 P5 Y7 B0 H7 K7 M7 L7 W7 V7 G7 S7 N0 Q0 O0

But my automatically requested upgrade still hasn't cleared by T-50

Follow up. Sometime last night the upgrades cleared.

My flights on Sunday all cleared last night too.

I did. Msp-PHX 7 am

Ok, this may actually be a false alarm, although it definitely felt strange, I had 3 flights back to back this week clearing close to departure for no apparent reason, and I have always cleared at T-100.

Flew PHL-LAX-SFO today - my LAX-SFO cleared Tuesday morning (100+) but my PHl-LAX didn't clear until the GA scanned my boarding pass and she realized that I was #1 on the ug list and she asked me to wait on the side for a few minutes while they took care of it

Mon afternoon AUS-ORD flight. Almost always clears T-100. 13 FC seats still open on EF and no one has been upgraded at T-24. Definitely not normal behavior for this flight.

I have noticed the upgrade window has closed too. I'm Exec Plat and had 6 flights this week, non of them had been cleared until just before departure. When I do clear, AA is placing me in a bulkhead seat (which I hate) with no ability to move my seat as all other seats have been populated w/ other upgrades.

Tonight, I have a FULLY REFUNDABLE Y (I purchased weeks ago) class 7:45PM flight out of SAT to DFW. I have always been upgraded in the T-100 or at least T-48 time frame due to class of ticket AND status however, as of 1PM the 1st class cabin if completely empty and I have not been upgraded.

In addition, I have a Sunday (6/19) 5:05PM flight from DFW to MIA Y class booked weeks ago with only 5 seats currently taken in a cabin of 40 seats and I have not cleared.

Due to the number of flights I had this week & the DFW-MIA flight on Sunday, I contact AA Exec Plat desk and voiced my concerns with the issues stated above. Of course, they were worthless in providing any information but patched me through to IT Help Desk. Yeah... that was worthless too as the poor girl had not a clue what I was talking about as she was only the "gatekeeper" (i.e. give me your information and I will send it on to IT).

American Airlines - On the path to lead the race to the bottom!

Update to my previous message:
I contacted AA Customer Service regarding the above information. AA called me twice last night (Sunday Night) during my flight from DFW to MIA. Of course I didn't answer due to being inflight. It was like the customer service employee knew exactly when to call... so he could say he tried. SMH

He did send a standard email stating that AA is using a Matrix to generate more revenue from last minute 1st class tickets. I would like to know the what probability model they are using for a SAT-DFW 7:45PM flight where all seats are available in 1st. AA probably spent millions on the model...however, for a small fee I could have told them there is a 0% change to sell all seats, and most likely less than 5% to sell just one seat during the last 24 hours for a 45 minute flight.

Therefore, it does appear that AA has done away with the T-100 window along with most other windows. Additionally, it appears that AA does not want to publish this change as the excuse was fairly lame.

Feel free to send complaints to AA Customer Server (must be sent via web submission from AA.com).

This is simply false. People have reported advance upgrades in the past few days in this very thread.

But are the token advance upgrades a tactic to maintain the "stated benefit" to sound better than others. If they don't deliver on a substantial basis, it's a fail.

Aside from the fact that you have no idea whether AA is delivering on "a substantial basis," upgrades have never been guaranteed nor universally given out at the moment the window(s) open.
