So as it stands now, that's only flying on BA coded flights, correct? If we were to fly an AA coded BA operated flight, we'd still get miles/points according to AA's schedule, correct?

Correct.

However, these comments from sukn:

Depending on what happens, I may end up getting the kayak out next year.

Paddling in a Southwesterly direction, in my case :)

Reduced BA earnings effective Feb 2016.

I could be proven wrong, but in my view, these new earning tables seem to suggest that miles/points accumulation will continue to be based on fare class, and that we will not see a pure revenue based system for 2016.

UA and DL partner earning charts look just like this, while prime airline earning is revenue-based.

However, both UA and DL gave advance notice for changing the qualifications themselves.

If AA is effectively gutting the program by changing the earning rates rather than fundamentally changing the rules (as may be suggested by the BA/IB change, though such a change also came with the DL and UA adoption of revenue programs), I really don't think a year's notice is likely. Several months, sure, but not close to a year.

Once again, I'd be happy to be wrong.

It's worth noting (to precisely what end, I'm not sure, though) that at least in the case of UA, the introduction of PQD (the term still gives me a shiver) and spend-based RDM preceded the announcement of devaluing partner mileage earning.

Anyone that truly believes AA will not move from its current form of earning status, well I've got nice plots in the Everglades. Maybe, and I mean maybe, AA will put off any changes until 2017 (qualifying for 2018) but that might even be wishful thinking.

I don't subscribe to all this negative talk about AA going revenue based, it is mostly coming from disgruntled UA/DL fliers (aka "the victims") who rationalize their situation and want to make themselves feel better for staying in the abusive relationships with UA/DL, lol. I believe there will be some changes to the AA program, but nothing major or too abrupt.

Indeed. If we thought Anderson was a penny-pincher just wait till you see what Deep Discount Doug is capable of...

I don't agree guys, Doug is doughy and nice, and Jeff and Dick are slick meanies who hate(d) their frequent fliers...:)

Consolidation has virtually eliminated the need for nice loyalty programs.

I see a few UA/DL flyers speculating, but it mostly seems to be AA flyers here. I have no idea what AA is going to do and really don't care to speculate. I was disappointed with DL's changes, but calling it "abusive" is just plain laughable. Sorry, it's just FF program, not life and death. Sounds like you've got your own ax to grind here and are engaging in projection.
