Haven't flown a 321 in a while and am going in F CLT-CUN. It is listed as a 321 and based on that and the seatmap it is a legacy US bird. This means no IFE and only wifi.
If I didn't know better I would think I would have great ride. By clicking on the 321 link when making a reservation on aa.com this 321 page comes up and states IFE and power. How do they post this without it being fraud? There are no disclaimers https://www.aa.com/i18n/travel-info/...irbus-a321.jsp Features of the Airbus A321 First Class First class seat A321 Leather seating throughout Innovative new seat designs Inflight Wi-Fi capability AC power outlets and USB ports at every seat Complimentary ear buds Enhanced complimentary food and beverage options A 12-inch touchscreen monitor that offers on-demand entertainment with up to 250 movies, 130 TV shows, 18 radio channels and 380 albums |

It isn't fraud because they say "our new A321". LUS A321s aren't in that bucket.

It is at the least deception when you click the link from the aircraft listed in the schedule and it brings up the better plane description.

According to the American Fleet twitter account, refurbished LUS A321s have started hitting the skies: https://twitter.com/AirlineUSA/statu...94560887226369
It looks like only bulkheads, seat covers and carpets are being replaced. No MCE, power or AVOD. I'm surprised they didn't at least remove a row of seats to install MCE in the front. Perhaps that will come at a later date to install power. Highly doubt these planes will be getting in-seat AVOD, since they're getting new seat covers. |

While this was desperately needed for many of the earlier delivery 321s (circa 2000-2001), it does seem strange to not at least install power in them in the same way they did with the 319s. Here's hoping that this will be done in a two step process, and that at the very least power is coming to them. It would be baffling if they were to forego power in these birds, yet installed it in the 319s.

What you're referring to is not the official refurbishment.
They are still deciding what will be included in the LUS 321 upgrade. Power is DEFINTELY coming. The big hang up is whether to install seat back AVOD. The capital outlay would be enormous and AA isn't sure it's worth it since they are going to upgrade to satellite based Gogo. The decision should be made soon though. |

They'll definitely be getting MCE purely for the sake of standardizing configurations, though. Now that the A319s are complete, I would expect the A321 to be the next priority. |

was just on a refurbished A321 in first row, was very surprised on how much leg room there was, but power would be nice.

On one of these right now - big ol' meh. Lipstick on a pig.

Very bad airplane. Even refurbished, at least to date. Do not like.
